Prep Orientation

Enrolled prep students will undertake a ‘Prep Transition Program’ beginning in October.  These sessions will help to orientate our new students and our new parents and carers into school life.

For many of you, this may be your first child attending school.  We understand that many of you may be anxious about this.  Our transition program is both to help your child get a feel for the school, meet their potential teachers, and to introduce them to their key buddies, and to also answer any questions and support you to make your child’s start to school seamless and smooth.

‘Prep Transition Program’ sessions will focus on students visiting our art, PE and music rooms and specialist teachers, whilst also spending time in their new classrooms with their new teachers.  One session is dedicated to us assessing your child to help us begin the new school year with a clear direction of learning for each individual.

During these times we have formal and informal ‘Parent and Carer Sessions’ which will give you the opportunity to meet other new families, and to hear about our school and what you can do to help your child begin their prep year.

Prior to the new school year, you will be provided with a ‘Social Story’ that is specific to your child, which you can read to your child to help them understand who they will meet at school, where they can go in the school, and what they can do.
